Ask the Acupuncturist? Question 2

How Does Acupuncture Actually Work?

It's one of the questions I hear most often!
At its core, acupuncture works by stimulating the nervous system. Tiny, precise needles send signals to the brain, which responds by releasing natural chemicals that help regulate pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and support your body's healing process.
That's why acupuncture can help with so many different concerns—from pain and headaches to stress, sleep, digestion, hormone balance, fertility, and overall wellness. Instead of simply masking symptoms, the goal is to help your body function the way it was designed to.
What question about acupuncture have you always wanted to ask? Leave it in the comments! Your question might be featured in our next Ask the Acupuncturist video.

Trying to conceive can be one of the most emotional journeys a couple experiences. Whether you're hoping to conceive naturally or are preparing for treatments like IUI or IVF, it's normal to feel excited, hopeful, and at times overwhelmed. At Lotus Acupuncture & Wellness, we believe fertility care should support your whole body—not just your reproductive system. Acupuncture offers a natural, evidence-informed way to optimize your health, reduce stress, and create the best possible environment for conception. If you've never had acupuncture before, here's exactly what you can expect during your first fertility appointment.
